410 Members, $400,000 in Grants!

After a seven month-long membership drive, we are happy to report that we have 410 members for 2023 – and we will award $400,000 in grants to local nonprofits this year! Thanks to all who came out to our "Taco Tuesday" Member Number Reveal Party at the Niceville Senior Center on June 27th to celebrate this milestone.

Now is a good time to reflect for a moment on just how important and significant this accomplishment truly is.  $400,000 to the nonprofits that serve Okaloosa and Walton Counties will make an enormous impact on the lives of so many in our community.   Since our chapter formed in 2012, we have granted over $4.1 million to 38 nonprofits.   We can all be so proud!

Many thanks to each and every one of you for making it all possible!

Sign-up Now for a Focus Area Committee

Now that our membership is set, we are entering grant evaluation season!  Please consider signing up to serve on a Focus Area Committee.

As you know, Impact100 Northwest Florida awards grants to nonprofits in five categories, and you can choose the one that interests you most:

●      Arts and Culture

●      Education

●      Environment, Recreation & Preservation

●      Family

●      Health and Wellness

Evaluating grants and making strong, informed choices as to where our money goes is at the very heart of our mission.

We are going with a "hybrid" approach to Site Visits this year – some committee members will attend in person, others will join via Zoom.  Committee work will begin in mid-August and wrap up by mid-September.  Some committees will take less time than others, based on the number of applications.

Click here for more details and to sign up for a committee!  If you have questions, please don't hesitate to email our Grants Committee. Registration is open through July 21.

Impact100 Northwest Florida Represents at the Global Conference

President Carly Barnes, Vice President Joni Wallace and Assistant Treasurer Tara Pierce attended this year's Impact100 Global Conference in Detroit at the end of June.  It was a great opportunity to network and learn more about how other chapters tackle challenges like membership recruitment and retention, nonprofit relations, the grant evaluation process,  and so much more.

They met Impact100 founder Wendy Steele, pictured here in the middle, who formed the organization in 2001 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  That first chapter awarded one grant in 2002.  As of this year, there are more than 60 chapters across the U.S. and in the U.K., New Zealand and Australia.
