President's Message – Let's Make 2024 an "Impactful" Year!

Welcome to 2024 and another year of making the mission of Impact100 Northwest Florida a reality! I love this time of year—writing dates in my calendar, thinking about the adventures and possibilities a new year brings and about how I’d like to spend my time. As your President, a lot of my time will be dedicated to the mission of Impact100 NWF…to financially support nonprofit organizations in Okaloosa and Walton Counties…. I know that I am not alone in that dedication of time or in the desire to better our community.

I am excited to see what we as Impact100 NWF members can do in 2024 for our community when we come together with our membership donations, our time and our talents. This year it is my goal that we fund at least one grant in each of the 5 categories which means 500+ members. In order to reach this milestone, I hope that each of you will renew your membership for 2024 and that you will invite and encourage your friends to attend at least one membership enrollment event between January and our membership deadline of April 30th.

Our membership enrollment events are open to all women over the age of 18—members and non-members. You do not need to have invited someone to attend a membership enrollment event—in fact, we’d love to see you at as many as you’d like to attend.

As members, we are all stakeholders in making Impact100 NWF a success and I believe we will do it again this year. We don’t all need to be board members or committee chairs but we all need to remain mission focused, ask ourselves why we do what we do and stay true to who we are and how we started.

Join Us January 16th at 790 Restaurant in Destin!

Please join us for our first Member Enrollment Event of 2024 at 790 Restaurant in Destin.

This event is a great opportunity for us to share with you all that we have planned for 2024, and tell you more about how you can get involved in our mission to support the nonprofits that serve our community through the power of collective giving.

We hope you will join us & bring a friend (or five)! Even if you don't have a guest this time, we still hope that you will attend to catch up with old friends, make some new ones, and hear more about what the New Year has in store for the most generous group of women on the Emerald Coast!

Membership enrollment is open through April 30. Please renew early to get the New Year started off right!

2024 Grant Workshops Set

The Grants Committee has six free workshops planned in the coming months at locations across Okaloosa and Walton Counties. The goal of these workshops is to connect with the nonprofit organizations that serve our community and bring them up to speed on our grants process.

These workshops are a great way for the nonprofits to take a deep dive into what’s involved in applying for an Impact100 Northwest Florida grant.

What a highly “impactful” project looks like

Please help us “spread the word” to nonprofits in our community that we would very much like to talk to them about their projects. We would especially like to put out the welcome mat for organizations that have not previously applied for a grant.

Members are also most welcome to attend and observe a workshop to learn more about the initial stages of our grants process. Granting money to nonprofits in our area is the heart and soul of our organization. These workshops are where it all starts.

Please mark these Membership Enrollment Events on your calendar! In addition to gatherings at local restaurants, we are looking to host some events on the premises of nonprofits that have received grants in previous years. It will be great to see what they have going on!

February 20 – Emerald Coast Science Center, 5:30 - 7pm, Fort Walton Beach (register)

March 4 – 3rd Planet Brewing, 5:30 - 7pm, Niceville (register)

April 11 – Hammock Bay Clubhouse, 5:30 - 7pm, Freeport (register)

April 25 – Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, 5:30 - 7pm, Destin (register)

Watch for other Pop-Up events as well. If you would like to host something in your neighborhood/community, please reach out to us at impactnwf@impactnwf.org. We can help with planning and organizing!

Also - please reserve these key dates for our "Big Three" membership events later in the year. We will open registration for them once details firm up.

May 16 - Member Number Reveal Party

October 28 - Grant Finalist Reveal Party

November 10 - Annual Meeting
