IMPACT100 NORTHWEST FLORIDA NEWSLETTER | JULY 2024 |
|
|
Summer is coming in HOT and so are we at Impact100 NWF. Did you know that our grant applications are due July 15th? Our nonprofits have been busy finalizing the details of their applications and are excited about sharing their projects with us. These Grant Applications are why we exist, so this is an important and busy time for us. There are two opportunities for you to get involved right now: |
| |
|
-
Our Finance Committee can still use members to financially vet our grant applications. They are looking at the viability and sustainability of the nonprofits who apply for our grants. If you would like to help with this, please email Tara Pierce at finance@impactnwf.org ASAP. They will get started shortly after the 7/15 grant application deadline.
-
Our Grants Committee is still looking for Focus Area Committee Members—you can find more details about that below. Many of our members have said that this is the most rewarding and eye-opening experience of being an Impact100 member. You will come away from serving with a better understanding of the nonprofits and the needs in this community and, very possibly, some new friends. The sign-up deadline for Focus Area Committees is July 31st. I hope that you will consider serving.
Please be sure and read the information from our Membership Committee regarding Evergreen Membership sign ups, Member+ and name tag ordering. There is a lot of important information that many of you have been asking about. Help us accomplish getting up to date on name tags! Also, please see details about our August Membership Event and some exciting news about the 2025 Impact100 Global Conference to be held in our own backyard. Feel free to call or text if you have questions and enjoy your summer! Joni Wallace 850-830-0064 |

INTRODUCING OUR 2024 FOCUS AREA COMMITTEE CHAIRS |
|
|
The Grants Committee is very pleased to announce and introduce our 2024 Focus Area Committee Chairs. We asked each chair the following questions: How long have you lived in the area? How long have you been a member of Impact100NWF, and What is a fun fact about yourself?
We hope that you enjoy learning a little bit more about these wonderful women!!
Each has agreed to give of their time to the heartbeat of what makes our organization so special—the review of our grant applications to determine the 10 finalists for the Annual meeting! And once again, it looks to be a very competitive slate. |
| |
|
If you have not yet signed up for a FAC, you have until the end of July. We will have a formal in-person training on August 24th that all members must participate in, in preparation for site visits in September.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to each of them as we approach their time of service in August and September! If you see them out and about, please pass along your own thanks. |

Since the 1980s, our archaeological consulting firm won a multi-year contract for investigations at Eglin AFB. We came for that project and never left. We had plenty of work, and this was where we wanted our four kids to grow up.
- I'm not completely sure...maybe 2015.
-
Although I've always been athletic, running, competition swimming, gymnastics, and downhill skiing, I am so freaking uncoordinated on skates of any kind, ice, roller, or anything with wheels on the feet. It's a source of great amusement to my entire family.

| Definition of Evergreen:
Having foliage that remains green and lively throughout more than one growing season yet remains lively year after year Retaining freshness and interest |
|
|
Just as there are evergreens in the plant kingdom, there are IMPACT100 NWF members who remain interested and involved year after year. We want to recognize the members who pledge to help IMPACT100 NWF stay vibrant and green by renewing their membership year after year.
To become an Evergreen Member, you only need to make this pledge one time. If your circumstances change in the future, simply let us know. Knowing that we can count on Evergreen Members each year will help us predict the number of returning members as we plan for the future.
As an Evergreen Member, we request that you make your annual payment before March 30th so that we can focus on reaching out to other members during the month of April. We would love your help with that process if you can help make phone calls. As always, your membership donation can easily be paid online with a credit card or by check.
Evergreen Members will be designated with a special Name Tag that can be worn to our events. You will receive an Evergreen name tag at no charge to you one time. If you are interested in being an Evergreen Member, please complete the following form. Deadline to sign up as Evergreen: August 31st
We know there has been a lapse in production of name tags over the past few years. If you have already signed up to be an Evergreen Member but have not received a name tag, please email the membership committee at the following address: membership@impactnwf.org |
|
|
ADDITIONAL OPTIONS FOR NAME TAGS |
|
|
Member+ Name:
If you are a Member+ (donated $100 or more when you joined or renewed in 2024), we would like to thank you for your additional donation by giving you an Impact100 NWF name tag if you do not already have one but would like one.
Please fill out this form by August 31st to order your name tag. (Your Member+ Designation will not be noted on the name tag. It is a generic name tag that matches the format of the others.) |
| |
|
Name Tags for Purchase:
If Evergreen or Member+ does not apply to you, but you would like to purchase a name tag for $10, please complete this form and mail a check NLT August 31st to the address below. You can also make payment in person at the August membership event. Impact100 NWF c/o Joni Wallace 207 Sweetwater Run Niceville, FL 32578 |
|
|
The Membership Committee’s Goal is to place orders for nametags in batches to get the best price and have them to each of you no later than Annual Meeting. Those of you who order early will have them sooner.
We will have them available for pick up at Membership Socials (August/September), the Grant Finalist Reveal and the Annual Meeting. We are working on some local pick-up options for you as well.
Questions? Feel free to call or text Joni @ 850-830-0064 or email: membership@impactnwf.org |

Please join us for a Wine & Cheese Happy Hour as we tour the Sharing & Caring Fort Walton Beach location. They were a 2021 grant recipient and their project building expanded their pantry space which allowed not only for more dry and cold goods to be stored but also expanded their reception area, provided private client interview space, and allowed them to become ADA Compliant for their disabled clients. We invite you to bring the following goods to stock the pantry. All of these are high demand items as kids return to school: Cereal, Peanut Butter and Macaroni and Cheese—Velveeta Shells & Cheese is best because it doesn't require other ingredients to complete the dish. Let's help stock their pantry! | |
